Premera Rural Health Care Fund – United States

The Rural Health Fund – a limited fund grant program, established by Premera and administered in partnership with Rasmuson Foundation and the Alaska Community Foundation – supports access to quality health care in rural Alaska communities.

The Alaska Community Foundation (ACF) offers the Premera Rural Health Care Fund grant program with the goal of funding projects that will help Alaska nonprofits provide access to quality health care in rural Alaska communities. This program seeks applications for projects that improve the quality of health care delivery as demonstrated by evidenced-based research.

Grant requests may be for up to $100,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible organizations are defined as community health centers, outpatient clinics, Alaska Native organization and tribal government operated clinics and/or hospitals, critical access hospitals, sole community hospitals, located in rural and remote locations of Alaska. Organizations must be based in Alaska, either have 501(c)(3) status and classified as a “not a private foundation” under section 509(a) of the tax code, or units of government, such as a city or tribal government. Organizations may receive multiple grants, if projects are different sites of service.
  • Eligible projects are short-term capital projects, including the purchase of medical and dental equipment, technology, vehicles and ancillary equipment for emergency services, facility renovations and restorations, and furnishings.
