Nuffic announces Security and Rule of Law & Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

Nuffic has announced a call for proposals for Security and Rule of Law & Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights to strengthen collaborative capacities under regional in the Sahel.

Objectives

The proposed projects must contribute to at least one of the following two objectives:

  • Objective 1 : Contribute to universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights [Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 5] and;
  • Objective 2 : Help promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies and achieve legitimate stability.

In case the proposal targets objective 1, it must contribute to at least one of the impacts to belong term: 

  • Better information and greater freedom of choice for young people in matters of sexuality;
  • Improved public and private health care for family planning, pregnancies and childbirth, including safe abortions.

In case the proposal targets objective 2, it must contribute at least to one of the impacts to belong term:

  • Human security;
  • Rule of law;
  • Peace and governance;
  • Social and economic reconstruction.

Organizations, if they wish, can make proposals covering both impacts in both themes.

Funding Information

  • Maximum funding available for this call (excluding co-financing): 1,200,000 EUR
  • Maximum funding per training on Plus measure (TMT +), (excluding co financing): 400,000 EUR
  • The maximum duration of the bespoke Plus training is 24 months. Please note that the date project implementation limit is set before March 31, 2022.

Target Groups

To be eligible for a grant for OKP group training, an application must relate to the conduct of training for candidates who meet the criteria following:

  • Applicants work for one of the following types of national organizations and / or local: ministries, institutions for vocational or secondary academic education or higher, universities, private sector, commissions or NGOs. Applicants cannot work for:
    • a bilateral or multilateral organization;
    • a non-governmental organization which operates at the international level and whose the activity is focused on the representation of social interests, such as cooperation in development, protection of nature and the environment, health or rights of man.
  • Applicants must have the nationality of or reside and work in one of the OKP countries including requests for grants for the conduct of the type of group training concerned may be granted.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are eligible as principal applicant for the grant (i) Dutch institutions secondary and / or higher vocational and academic education or (ii) other types of Dutch organizations able to provide training and which also contribute strengthening of priority themes in countries on the Country List are eligible for grants for OKP group training. These institutions must provide the training themselves; intermediary organizations are not eligible. The institutions must have sufficient financial and organizational capacity to conduct training. They can prove it by means of a CECO which is judged positiveby Nuffic. Organizations must also demonstrate their experience in providing the desired training.
