Grant Program to Empower Non-governmental Organizations in Republic of Moldova

The Eastern European Foundation (FEE) and the Partnership Center for Development (CPD) in collaboration with the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality are implementing the "Advocacy for Better Protection against Discrimination" project. This project is funded by the European Union and co-financed by Sweden.

The program aims to empower non-governmental organizations in their efforts to interact with potential victims of discrimination, document cases of discrimination and help victims of discrimination to assert their rights.

The project aims to strengthen Moldova's anti-discrimination mechanisms through the involvement of civil society. The project will enable civil society actors to

  • unite and promote the improvement of anti-discrimination legislation;
  • empower the most vulnerable and marginalized groups to claim their rights;
  • strengthen the Council's capacity to prevent and eliminate discrimination and ensure equality in the transfer of experience to national courts;
  • increase the capacity of five universities to prevent and combat sexual harassment

The specific objectives of the grant program are:

  • Identifying and encouraging victims of discrimination, representatives of vulnerable and marginalized groups to assert their rights;
  • Assisting victims to lodge complaints with the courts or the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality;
