The Leeds Community Foundation is inviting proposals for the Jimbo’s Fund to support local projects across Leeds, continuing Jimi’s legacy of generosity.

Priority will be given to projects benefiting:

• Children and young people,
• People with profound and multiple learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities,
• Older people, and
• People in need who are actively trying to help themselves in areas of significant disadvantage.

The type of activity that can be funded is quite broad and includes:

• Project costs
• Staff costs to enable you to employ someone
• Training for volunteers or staff
• Capital costs, including purchase of equipment, refurbishment and building work, and purchase of buildings
• Contribution to core costs as long as this is related to the delivery of activities or services you are requesting funding for

Funding Information

Jimbo’s Fund will make grants of £1,000 to £20,000 to support organisations working for the benefit of disadvantaged people in Leeds.

Eligibility Criteria

Grants are open to volunteer led organisations, including community groups, charities, social enterprises or other charitable organisations from the third sector, that:

• Have a constitution or other relevant governance document
• Have a management committee/board of directors/trustees of at least three unrelated people
• Have a bank account under the name of the group with at least two unrelated signatories
• Are based in and supporting people living in the Leeds
• Have been established for at least 2 years and have a track record in the local area.
