Soroptimist International of Saratoga County (SISC) announces the availability of $16,800 in funding for local organizations that support the needs of women and girls in Saratoga County.

Soroptimist International of Saratoga County (SISC) is granting funds for organizations that support the needs of women and girls in Saratoga County. These awards, given by the club each year, should provide women and girls with access to the education, training and support they may need to improve the quality of their lives. In order to qualify, candidate organizations must reside in or serve the needs of citizens of Saratoga County.

In addition, they also support Wellspring with Project Hope and Power program, a financial literacy program which has been shown to be successful in empowering women and increasing their ability to reach their goals.

Funding Information

• Grants awarded in 2020 total $28,682
• Their $5,000 grant provided to Wellspring in 2019 will enable them to continue to their important work resulting in the improvement of the lives of so many women and girls from their community.

Criteria

• Application is limited to organizations which are located in and primarily serve the needs of women and girls in Saratoga County.
• Typically, funds are given for start-up, capital projects, on-going operating expenses and special programming.
• The project must benefit the quality of life for women and girls in Saratoga County, so only projects with this focus will be funded.  Consideration will be given to the overall number of people served.
• Although they appreciate and applaud individual achievements, applications for personal endeavors, such as an athletic or pageant competition, will not be funded.
• Please note:  Applicants may only apply for one grant, either local or through their Global Initiative.  Multiple requests for funding will not be considered.
• In 2020 they awarded Grants to 21 organizations.
