The Strathcona County is accepting applications for the COVID-19 Community Connection Grant Program
The Community Connection Grant is a way for neighbours to connect and build community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Strathcona County is challenging residents to uplift each other’s spirits and ease the impacts of physical distancing.
Funding Information
Micro grants of up to $200 are intended to increase social connection and a sense of support between residents in Strathcona County.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for grant funding must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Be residents of Strathcona County.
- Activity must be held in Strathcona County.
- Only one application per household: The recipient receiving the cheque must be over the age of 18 years old and will be responsible for: the funds received, signing the application and posting a photo or story following the event.)
- Businesses are not eligible for funding.
- Applicants must have no outstanding grant reports due to Strathcona County Family and Community Services.
- Grant funds will be used for a community purpose only and may not support or promote political activities, private interests or religious beliefs.
- Activities must take place between May 25 – December 31, 2020 in Strathcona County.
- Recipients are asked to post a photo or story of the activity on social media (#SCSocialAction). No final reporting is required. Recipients must retain receipts for seven years in case of audit.
- When possible, recipients are encouraged to support local businesses and shop in Strathcona County.
- Recipients may be invited to participate in a facilitated conversation with other project leaders in the fall.
