The Australian Government is inviting applications from organizations via an open competitive process for grant funding for 12-month projects that help enable the participation of people with disability in community life – particularly in arts, culture, sport, and recreation activities – as part of the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC)’s Economic and Community Participation Program’s Social and Community Participation (SCP) grant opportunity.

The aim of the SCP grant opportunity is to support people with disability, their families and careers to participate in, contribute to and benefit from community activities. It is part of the Economic and Community Participation Program which connects people with disability to activities, employment and community supports and opportunities, helping communities and employers to be inclusive and responsive to people’s needs locally, and nationally.

The objective of the Economic and Community Participation Program is to build the capacity of the community for people with disability to participate in, and contribute to, community life across Australia.

Outcomes

Outcomes for this grant opportunity are:

  • Community organizations are more inclusive of people with disability, their families and careers.
  • Community access is improved for people with disability, their families and careers.
  • People with disability, their families and careers are included in the response to or recovery from the COVID 19 pandemic and/ or recent natural disasters.

Funding Information

This grant opportunity has a total of $35.9 million (GST exclusive) available. Funding is available for up to 12 months from 10 June 2021 to 9 June 2022. Funding is available in this grant opportunity via two categories:

  • Small Grant: $20,000 to $50,000 (GST excl.)
  • Large Grant: $100,000 to $350,000 (GST excl.)

Eligible grant activities

Eligible Social and Community Participation activities may include though are not limited to:

  • Support for community organizations inclusive of people with disability, their families and careers
  • Support to improve community access for people with disability
  • Response to (or recovery from) COVID-19 restrictions and/or recent natural disasters

Who is eligible to apply for a grant?

To be eligible to receive a grant, you must be one of the following legal entity types:

  • Company
  • Cooperative
  • Corporate State or Territory Entity
  • Incorporated association
  • Indigenous corporation
  • Local Government
  • Non-Corporate State or Territory Entity
  • Non-Corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority.
