The City of Fremantle is seeking applications for its Community Grants Program.
The City of Fremantle recognizes the pivotal role community groups and organizations play in the delivery of diverse and vibrant communities. The community grants program supports projects and initiatives that make a positive contribution to Fremantle’s community.
In response to these rising and exposed challenges the Community Grants Program will be focused on providing funding to projects and initiatives that respond directly to the recovery of the first and secondary impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.
Objectives
Community grant applications that meet a minimum of 2 of the program priorities, listed below, and are delivered in the City of Fremantle district will be considered for funding:
- Deliver inclusive responses to meet the needs of isolated groups, including but not limited to, services to vulnerable people who are directly affected by mental health, homelessness and family domestic violence. For example:
- Access to services (including alternate service delivery and location)
- Address mental health wellbeing of the community
- Respond to food insecurities
- Projects targeted to directly benefit women
- Support collaboration between stakeholder
- Increase volunteer participation. For example:
- Encourage grass-roots community recovery
- Raise awareness and understanding of COVID-19 impacts to wider community
- Build community group sustainability
- Encourage active participation in the local community. For example:
- Improve community inclusiveness
- Increase awareness of community events, groups and activities
- Strengthen reconciliation practices. For example:
- Support and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and perspective
- Retain and strengthen connection to country, identity and culture
- Address direct impact of COVID-19 on the local Aboriginal community
- Create opportunities for people to connect with each other in their local neighborhoods. For example:
- Address potential rise of social isolation
- Support the positive reconnection of neighbours in local streets and suburbs
- Aligns with the City of Fremantle Community Strategic Plan, Focus Area- Health and Happiness
Funding Information
Amount: Up to $5000
Eligibility Criteria
Applications will be considered from:
- An organization or group that is legally constituted as an incorporated association (or has secured an auspice)
- A not for profit company
- Applicant that has obtained the appropriate level of Public Liability Insurance for proposed project and/or event
