Climate Bridge Fund: Inviting Concept Notes from NGOs in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) with support from Government of Germany through KfW is inviting concept notes for Climate Bridge Fund (CBF), which is an innovative direct climate finance mechanism which will support any NGOs (registered under NGO Affairs Bureau) work in Bangladesh.


The CBF Secretariat invites project concept notes from NGOs to increase the resilience of people living in urban areas who are either displaced or are at risk of being displaced due to the impacts of climate change. The fund supports vulnerable communities in Rajshahi, Khulna & Barishal city corporations and Satkhira & Sirajganj municipalities.

Focus Areas

  • Continuance and scaling-up of successful pilot projects which meet the objective of CBF,
  • Innovative ideas that have potentials for scaling up and self-sustainability,
  • Contribution to longer term Operations and maintenance sustenance of the essential urban infrastructures.

Funding Information

  • Duration of the project may vary from 3 to 5 years and estimated budget should be limited within BDT 50 lakh to 3 crore.

Eligibility Criteria

All NGOs need to fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for funding. The Climate Bridge Fund eligibility requirements concern the project ideas (“project-related criteria”) and the implementing organisation (“organisation-related criteria”). The proponent should consider carefully if they fulfill the criteria and have the capacity to offer and implement projects of this nature.
