The City of Bunbury is inviting proposals for the 2020-2021 Minor Community Grants Program.
The City of Bunbury Minor Community Grant is a small, one off grant that are provided to eligible individuals or community organisations. Funds are allocated in accordance with the City’s annual budget with grants open to applicants on an ongoing basis until all funds in this allocation have been expended.
Funding Categories
- Category 1: Events/Programs
- Up to $500 per application (exc GST) available
- Application must be received at least six weeks prior to the start date of the event / program
- Small, one off community programs that have not been included in the City’s annual budget or have not received funding through the City’s Grant Funding Program (reference Council Policy Grant Funding Program)
- Category 2: Achievement
- Up to $350 per application (exc GST) available
- Application must be received at least four weeks prior to the start date of the event /program.
- Individuals and small groups that are based in the City of Bunbury, who are pursuing a sporting, career or cultural activities that have been selected to represent the region in a prestigious event.
- Includes travel subsidies, accommodation, uniforms, fees and associated costs.
- Category 3: Capacity & Skill Building
- Up to $200 (exc GST) per individual application and a maximum of two applications from the same group/club
- Applications must be received at least four weeks prior to the start date of the seminar
- Expression of interest based, and participant numbers capped per session
- Eligible individuals/representatives of community organisations who express interest in a City of Bunbury hosted webinar/seminar on a topic to be determined by community feedback.
Activities falling under any of these categories must achieve one or more of the following:
- Provide benefit to the community of Bunbury and take place (majority) within the City of Bunbury
- Enhance community identity and a sense of belonging
- Contribute to a feeling of safety and security value and welcome diverse cultures promote an active and healthy life
- Be accessible for people with disabilities and inclusive for all demographics, ages and backgrounds
- Establish Bunbury as the most accessible regional City in Australia
- Bring the community together
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to receive a Minor Community Grant from the City, the Applicant must:
- Be an individual or not-for-profit community organisation Submit an application through the City’s grant management portal
- Have all appropriate insurance and licenses relevant to their work (if applicable for events)
- Demonstrate that the City of Bunbury will be promoted in a positive manner
- One submission per applicant, per financial year
- All applications will require supporting documentation to best outline your proposal (e.g. quotes, letters of support/acceptance, itineraries, budgets)
- Applications where two or more members of a club or community group will be attending an event, will require an application to be made from the club;
- All decisions will be made and authorised by the Chief Executive Officer and in line with budget availability;
- The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the funding is spent as outlined in the proposal and acquitted to the Grants Officer upon completion;
- To be valid, all applications are to be received in accordance with outlined timeframes stated in each category
