The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County has announced its 2021 Grant Program to support projects that enable and empower women in challenging situations to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of those for whom they are responsible.
Organizations that offer programs and/or services that promote self-sufficiency for women and the people for whom they are responsible in Frederick County, Maryland, are eligible to apply.
Funding Priorities
- Emergency Services - projects that provide food, shelter, medical care, and/or safety for Frederick County women and the people for whom they are responsible.
- Growth - projects that provide education, transportation, childcare, respite care, personal improvement, recovery, and/or self-sufficiency.
Funding Information
- $250,000 will be available during the 2021 grant cycle.
- Organizations may submit up to four proposals for funding.
- Each proposal may not exceed $10,000.
- Organizations may seek up to $20,000 total.
Eligibility Criteria
- A nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization.
- A government agency and/or quasi governmental agency applying for an extraordinary project that is not funded by tax revenue.
- A religious organization requesting funding for non-sectarian activities.
- A civic group that is not a 501(c)(3) organization requesting funding for a community cause.
- Organizations must also meet the Community Foundation’s three-part due diligence review, which includes:
- Guidestar.org
- Maryland Secretary of State Charitable Database
- Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation
