The U.S. Embassy in Niger is seeking proposals for the 2021-2022 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) to increase participants’ knowledge and global connectivity.
Global UGRAD participants come from 60+ countries and study for a semester at universities across the United States. After the program, participants are higher-achieving students, stronger leaders, and more actively engaged in their communities.
Since 2008, World Learning has facilitated the placement of more than 2,500 Global UGRAD students at colleges and universities across the United States. Students participate in one semester of non-degree study and leave the U.S. with the tools to become leaders in their professions and home communities. They also receive access to grants and professional development resources available only to alumni of U.S. Department of State exchange programs.
Undergraduate students from all fields of study are encouraged to apply. The program is open to all, regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
Benefits
Participants are actively engaged on- and off-campus. They take part in cultural enrichment activities throughout the semester and experience various aspects of American life and local communities. They complete 20 hours of community service and participate in professional skills development activities. Participants receive tuition and fees, campus housing, a meal plan, support for pre-approved cultural activities and a modest monthly stipend.
