Indigenous Youth Research Grants - Canada

The Canadian Roots Exchange (CRE) Center for Indigenous Policy and Research is seeking applications for its Indigenous Youth Research Grants to provide small grants to Indigenous youth who want to design, develop, and implement their own community-based research projects in Canada.

The Indigenous Youth Research Grants Program is designed to ignite grassroots youth-led research projects and to highlight emerging researchers in new ways.

Funding Information

  • Grants of $ 1,000 will be awarded to successful applicants for the implementation of their project.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Indigenous Youth (FNMI) aged 18 to 29.
  • Desire to do community research.
  • It must be a project led by Aboriginal youth, the ownership of which, when completed, remains with the youth. Partners are allowed, but must respect the ownership of the research project.

Ineligible Expenses

  • CRE will not fund projects that are political in nature, or that involve distributing substances (i.e. alcohol, non-traditional tobacco, marijuana, illicit substances, etc.)
