Community Foundation of Broward inviting Applications for Animal Welfare Grant - U.S.

The Community Foundation of Broward is inviting applications for its Animal Welfare grant program to help animal shelters, rescue organizations, and/or wildlife centers strengthen their resources to continue to strategically reduce overpopulation; increase adoptions; rescue and rehabilitate; create healthy habitats; and eliminate animal suffering.

The goal of this grant program is to ensure Broward’s animals, both wild and domesticated, is treated with respect and lives safely without threat, abuse or neglect.

The foundation wants to create an environment where our domesticated and wild animals can live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. Sick, injured and homeless animals deserve proper treatment, protection, and care.

Program Areas

Submit the best and most creative proposal that will demonstrate measurable outcomes in one or more of the following areas:

  • Increase the number of animals that are spayed/neutered.
  • Increase the number of animals living safely after finding a forever home through adoption.
  • Provide wild or domesticated animals in need with medical treatments, rehabilitation and safe environments.

Funding Information

  • Grant Range: Up to $30,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nonprofits with 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt status to provide services in Broward County.
  • City or county agencies with projects that demonstrate charitable intent in Broward County.
  • Individuals are not eligible to apply.
  • Previous or current grantee organizations must be in good standing with the Foundation.
  • The Foundation will not provide support to organizations which, in their constitution or practice, discriminate against a person or group on the basis of:
    • Age, Sexual Orientation, Ethnicity, Gender, Race, Political Affiliation, Gender Identity, National Origin,, Religious Belief, Disability.

Application Requirements?

  • The RFP is aimed at animal shelters, rescue organizations, and/or wildlife centers.
  • The grant period is 12 months.
  • If applicable, letters of support from the collaborating organization(s) that outline their role and responsibilities throughout the project are required.
  • Proposal must clearly present the implementation plan to help vulnerable domesticated and wild animals in need.
