Safe, Respected and Free from Violence Prevention Grants Program - Australia

The Safe, Respected and Free from Violence Prevention Grants support localized projects, activities and actions, including pilot programs or components of programs, that seek to challenge and change social and cultural attitudes, values and structures that underpin domestic, family and sexual violence. This funding will be made available annually.

Target Groups

Applications which seek to prevent violence for high risk groups are also encouraged. High risk groups, as specified in the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Reduction Framework 2018-2028 Safe, Respected and Free from Violence, include but are not limited to:

  • Children and Young People;
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities;
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse communities;
  • People with disability;
  • People experiencing mental health issues;
  • People who are elderly/Senior Territorials; and
  • People who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and/or asexual (LGBTQIA+).

Funding Information

  • The total annual funding for the Safe, Respected and Free from Violence Prevention Grants is $1 Million.
  • Grants of up to $150 000 are available.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply for a Safe, Respected and Free from Violence Prevention Grant, applicants must:

  • be a resident of the Northern Territory with an auspicing organization; or
  • if an organization, be based and registered in the Northern Territory; and
  • Demonstrate that the funds will contribute to the primary or secondary prevention of domestic, family or sexual violence in the Northern Territory.
