Apply Now for Lichfield Coronavirus Support Fund - United Kingdom

In response to the coronavirus pandemic in the United Kingdom, Lichfield District Council has launched a public appeal to raise funds that will enable organisations to apply for grants through the Community Foundation if they have been affected by the pandemic.

The Community Foundation for Staffordshire will be awarding grants from the Lichfield Coronavirus Support Fund to organisations supporting those people and communities affected.

The aim of the fund is to support organisations with the immediate and unexpected costs the COVID-19 virus has created. Organisations would need to be supporting members of the community. It is not intended to replace loss of income.

Some examples of projects that could be supported include;

  • Groups that support the ongoing needs of vulnerable people to ensure that their health and wellbeing is maintained.
  • Organisations in support of activities that relieve pressure on local statutory services, particularly emergency or health and social care provision, or compliment their response.
  • Groups and activities that support vulnerable people self-isolating (the elderly, people with pre-existing medical conditions etc).
  • Support for foodbanks and organisations working to combat hardship caused by the pandemic including child hunger.
  • Community response coordination.
  • Volunteer costs for new and existing organisations responding to the effect of the pandemic.
  • Additional costs of working remotely and adapting services delivered in the wider community.
  • Additional support as required for emotional support, mental health and bereavement support.
