Schroder Charity Trust's Grant Programme (United Kingdom)

he Schroder Charity Trust is seeking applications for its Grant Programme to support a broad range of charitable causes in the UK and overseas.

Established as ‘The Bruno Schröder Charity Trust’ in 1946, the name was later changed to the ‘Schroder Charity Trust’ in 1953.

The Schroder Charity Trust is wholly independent of Schroders Plc, the asset management company that is also associated with the family.

Funding Information

  • The Schroder Charity Trust generally makes grants of up to £5,000. In 2019/20 the average grant was £4,368.
  • The Trust receives between 400-500 applications each year and approximately 100 charities receive grants, meaning there is a 1 in 5 success rate (i.e. of every 5 applications, they receive, 1 will receive funding).
  • The Trust funds both core costs and specific projects, but not large capital appeals. Grants are usually for a one-year period, rather than over multiple years.

The Schroder Charity Trust will not support:

  • Individuals
  • Animal Welfare Organisations
  • Political Organisations
  • Major Capital Appeals
