Disability Summit

UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated on 3rd December. Trust Cradle had along with WHO had organized a Summit to discuss the issues related with disabilities. The summit was attended by approx. 2, 500 persons with disabilities.

Through the summit, Trust Cradle had certain special undertakings for the particular day, that included:

The programme also received huge participation from:

• Award of Employment/ Jobs to Disabled Youth
• Award of Scholarships for Students of Special Needs
• Distribution of Assistive Appliances and Devices
• Release of Book on Disability
• Debate on UN Theme for Year 2014

The debate theme for year 2014 was Sustainable Development: The Promise of Technology. And had focus majorly on role of technology in:

• Creating Enabling Working Environments
• Disability- Inclusive Sustainable Development Goals
• Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Response
